HCG Chart: IU, mL, Concentration & U-100 Units
The tables below show vial-based mathematical examples of how HCG vial strength and reconstitution volume change concentration, mL, and U-100 syringe-unit conversions. They do not establish an appropriate dose, treatment schedule, or protocol.
HCG Vial & Reconstitution Concentration Examples
The table below demonstrates concentration math only. It does not establish a dose or protocol.
| Vial Strength | Total Volume | Calculated Concentration |
|---|---|---|
| 5,000 IU | 5 mL | 1,000 IU/mL |
| 5,000 IU | 10 mL | 500 IU/mL |
| 10,000 IU | 5 mL | 2,000 IU/mL |
| 10,000 IU | 10 mL | 1,000 IU/mL |
Arithmetic examples only. Use the exact vial strength and preparation instructions supplied for your prescription.
U-100 Syringe Units and mL Conversion
A U-100 syringe represents 100 units per 1 mL. The unit number is a volume measurement, not a drug dose. The amount of HCG represented by that volume depends entirely on the concentration.
| U-100 Units | Volume |
|---|---|
| 5 units | 0.05 mL |
| 10 units | 0.10 mL |
| 20 units | 0.20 mL |
| 25 units | 0.25 mL |
| 50 units | 0.50 mL |
| 100 units | 1.00 mL |
How the Calculator Performs the Conversion
The calculator divides the total vial amount by the reconstitution volume to determine concentration. It then divides the amount entered by that concentration to calculate mL. For U-100 display, the mL value is multiplied by 100.
Concentration (IU/mL) = vial amount (IU) ÷ reconstitution volume (mL)
Volume (mL) = amount entered (IU) ÷ concentration (IU/mL)
U-100 units = volume (mL) × 100
Why HCG IU Can Equal Different Syringe Units
There is no single IU-to-units answer without knowing the prepared concentration. U-100 syringe units measure volume, while HCG is prescribed in IU. Enter the exact vial strength, total preparation volume, and prescribed IU amount above to perform the mathematical conversion.
HCG Calculator FAQ
What is HCG?
Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) is a prescription gonadotropin hormone. Product strengths, preparation instructions, and prescribed amounts can vary, so use the exact label and pharmacy or provider instructions for your medication.
What does vial strength mean in the HCG calculator?
Vial strength is the total amount of HCG shown on the vial label. Enter that amount in IU along with the reconstitution volume to calculate the resulting concentration.
Does this calculator recommend a HCG dose?
No. It performs mathematical conversions only. Example values in the calculator and charts are provided to demonstrate concentration, mL, and U-100 syringe-unit math and should not be interpreted as a recommended dose.
Why can the same IU amount equal different U-100 syringe units?
U-100 units represent volume. When the vial strength or reconstitution volume changes, the concentration changes, so the same amount in IU can correspond to a different volume and different number of U-100 units.
What does IU/mL mean?
IU/mL describes concentration: the number of International Units contained in each milliliter of prepared solution. For example, mathematically, 5,000 IU in a total volume of 5 mL equals 1,000 IU/mL.
How do U-100 syringe units convert to mL?
On a U-100 syringe, 100 units equals 1 mL, 50 units equals 0.5 mL, 25 units equals 0.25 mL, and 10 units equals 0.10 mL. The amount of HCG represented by that volume depends on the concentration.
What if my HCG vial strength is not listed in the chart?
Use the calculator’s custom vial-strength field and enter the exact amount shown on your vial together with the reconstitution volume. If your product instructions are unclear, contact your healthcare provider or dispensing pharmacy before use.
Can I print or save my HCG calculation?
Yes. The calculator includes Copy Results, Download / Save PDF, and Print Results controls for the mathematical results displayed on the page.
