Understanding the Calculation

How the CJC-1295 Calculator Converts Dose to Syringe Units

CJC-1295 vial strength is normally listed in milligrams (mg), while an individual dose is usually written in micrograms (mcg). The calculator first converts the vial amount from milligrams to micrograms.

It then divides the total amount of CJC-1295 by the amount of bacteriostatic water added to find the concentration in mcg per mL. Your prescribed dose is divided by that concentration to calculate the injection volume, which is then converted to syringe units.

It depends on your reconstitution. With a 5 mg vial mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, the concentration is 2,500 mcg/mL, so 100 mcg equals 0.04 mL approximately 4 units on a U-100 insulin syringe. A different vial strength or water amount produces a different result.
Yes. You may enter a 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, or any other custom vial strength. Always enter the exact amount printed on your vial.
Adding water does not change the total amount of CJC-1295 in the vial, but it changes the concentration. More water means a larger injection volume and more syringe units are required to measure the same prescribed dose.
